Update on Practice Rounds

Sorry girls I didn't mean you to add names to a list, just to add a comment. If there is a way of doing the former I certainly don't know how to do it!
I have increased the numbers with Ashford. They seem quite relaxed and don't have tee times per se. Green fee using your County Card is £20
I am keeping a list (and updating it!) of who wants to go and when and so far it looks like this,

Thursday 3rd June Rena and Pat

Friday 4th June Helen S, Debbie T, Judith, Stella, Debbie C and Caroline

Friday 18th June Sue, Helen V, Kelly and Brenda

Some may want to go again and that should not be a problem. Keep the comments coming!

Preparing for Finals Day !

I have booked Ashford Practice rounds on 3 days. As far as I remember yesterday (in all the excitement!) these dates were good for most of those present. Below, I attach the names to each date that I noted yesterday. Please add your name to a gap. Ashford G C allow us 8 courtesy rounds and as before when we booked extra rounds , we will share out the cost evenly.
Thursday 3rd June (next Thursday!) Fourball at 12.30 Using County Cards
Debbie T
Rena
?
?
Friday 4th June Fourball at 12.30 Using County Cards
Debbie C
Caroline
?
?
Friday 18th June Two Fourballs at 12.30 This is the Designated Courtesy Round
Helen S Kelly
Helen V Brenda
Sue Judith
? ?
If you can play as above or if you need to alter your day, please add a comment. If you want to book rounds outside of these dates, just call the pro shop; they were very accommodating. The more familiar we become with the course the better between now and June 23rd!

Fantastic!!

Well we have done it - our 5 - 2 win against Langley Park was enough to get us through to finals day on Wednesday 23rd June when we will have to play either Westerham or Knole Park.

Fantastic wins for Caroline & Judith (both 5 & 4), Rena (4 & 3), Helen Venis (3 & 2) and Debbie Tennant (1 up) combined with minor loses for Kelly & Sue (both 3 & 2) gave us sufficient points to overcome the result at Langley Park and see us through by the narrowest of margins i.e. one point.

Well done ladies, you were all terrific today and should all be proud of your achievements. Everyone played their part today showing that West Malling are a force to be reckoned with.

I would also like to thank all our supporters on the day, Stella, Pat, Viv, Jane, Helen, Peggy & Belinda (I hope I have remembered everyone) - we do appreciate it.

Can't wait for the 23rd June, it should be a great day!!

Today's match v Langley Park @ Langley Park

It was an extremely warm sunny day at Langley Park today. Unfortunately we lost 5 and 2. Helen Venis and Stella Pitt were pleased to win their matches. Rena Jones lost on the 19th having given 4 shots. Langley Park won 15 points to our 4. The team played well but are sure that they can do better next time!! We are very confident that we can beat Langley Park next week at West Malling. The team would like to thank Viv for her support.

What to wear????

I was wondering whether we may want to change our black shirts for "West Malling" white ones or just white ones on Friday as it is supposed to be 23 C?? Mind you that could all change before Friday!
I am happy to remain in black as they have bought us luck so far but didn't know if we will overheat?? What does everyone think?...I have run this past Helen before asking!! C xx

Team for Langley Park Match AWAY Friday 21st May 2010

The team for this match is:

Debbie Tennant
Kelly Hanson
Caroline Harrison
Judith Parkhurst
Helen Venis
Rena Jones
Stella Pitt

Reserve: Sue Stickland

Please confirm your availability as soon as possible.

It is a 10am meet for a 10.30am start.

As I will not be able to be with you on Friday I would like to wish you all the best of luck. Please remember that this round of the competition is decided on the combined scores from the home and away games so in the event of a draw the tie will be decided on the number of points won from the individual games. So you should aim to win BIG or lose small.

FAVERSHAM COURSE PLANNER......

Earlier in the year when some of us went to Faversham for the courtesy round, I lent my course planner to someone and I can't remember who it was! Could you please return it to me as I am soon playing there in their Open. Cheers.

Dates for Langley Park Home Match

Life is never easy but it has now got very stressful trying to sort out the dates for these matches.

I have now given Langley Park the following dates for our home match:

Friday 14th May with a 12noon start (there is a large golf society out that day hence the late start)
Thursday 20th May 10.30 start
Friday 28th May 10.30 start

The Langley Park captain is unable to get any dates from her club at the present time but will let me have them asap. She says I should not worry too much as we have 4 weeks to play the matches!! I hope everything is as easy as that!

Watch this space....

Congratulations from Littlestone

I received the following from Littlestone:

Many congratulations on your win and good luck in the rest of the tournament
Regards
Kay
Pearson Captain Littlestone

Possible Dates for Langley Park Matches

The dates we are looking at are:
Friday 14th May at West Malling
Friday 21st May at Langley Park.

These dates still have to be agreed at both clubs.
From the information I have it should be only Brenda that is not available for the home match and Brenda and Debbie Conder will be missing for the away match but these are the dates where the majority of people are available.
Could our working ladies check to see if they can get these days off and let me have confirmation asap.
Will everyone else put the dates in their diaries or let me know if there is a problem.

WE ARE THROUGH!!

It's been confirmed that we are group winners and have to play Langley Park in the next round.

As I need to sort out the dates for our next matches which have to be played by 30th May could you all add to this post details of dates you are NOT available. I do need this information as soon as possible as there is a lot on already in May and I want to play the matches with the strongest teams possible.

WELL DONE LADIES YOU SHOULD BE VERY PROUD OF YOUR SUCCESS. I hope to see you all soon when we can have a proper celebration!
