Great Start!

Team West Malling started their season in style with a 5 -2 win at home against Knole Park on Thursday 24th November.
Leading the way was Caroline Harrison who upset the Knole Park Lady Captain by beating her 7 & 6. (Caroline I don't hold out much hope of you getting into any opens next year at Knole Park!). Our other winners were Debbie Conder, Stella Pitt and Julie Harris who all had impressive 4 & 2 wins with Kelly Hanson showing her normal determination winning her match up the 19th. Our five wins gave us an impressive 20 points in the bag.
Lindsay Hart lost a very close match on the 18th (1 down) and Carol Eldridge lost on the 17th (2 & 1) giving Knole Park just 3 points from their two wins.
Ladies a terrific first win of the season. A real confidence booster for the season ahead. WELL DONE!

12 ladies played against the 'elite' vets yesterday, it began with the usual (from the vets) How are we playing this match? The ladies never have a problem with the format, anyway the match was played in the usual good spirit. The result was 71/2 - 31/2 to the ladies.
Wins for Caroline, Sue S, Helen V, Judith, Lyndsay, Christine and Carol E. Debbie T halved her match. Losses for Pat D, Sue G, Marion and Rena, but these matches where close with Pat losing on the 16th and Rena on the 18th.
Everyone enjoyed the day and are ready for the next encounter.

Get Together Tuesday 1st November 2011

Sixteen ladies turned out for our second Get Together of this Pearson season and took on a very strong opponent, the course! There were some excellent scores on the day, Julie, Lindsay and Rena all matching the course at all square with Carol Eldridge going one better beating the course by one hole. But the performance of the day was from Christine Pearce who beat the course 3 up. Well done Chris.

Our matches start in just three weeks and today's results show that we have a number of ladies in good form.

Thank you ladies for your continued enthusiasm for the Pearson competition and for turning out despite the pouring rain just before our start time! Everyone enjoyed the format and it is definitely something we will do again.
