The Spitfire course is closed today but the Hurricane is open with temporary greens (they weren't sure how many!). No decision can be made about tomorrow's match until 8am tomorrow morning when we know about the state of the courses but it looks like we may be able to play the match on the Hurricane. I will post details on the BLOG tomorrow morning as soon as I have contacted the club.
Please bear with me - I know some are not keen to play on the Hurricane but it is imperative that we try to play this match tomorrow if at all possible as it will be a nightmare trying to re-arrange it by the end of April what with all our other commitments.
Hope to see you all tomorrow.
P.s following requests from many of you I have cancelled the food arrangements for tomorrow so that we will all be starving by the time we get to the Imperial Dynasty. We will however have to ensure our visitors are fed so please can you get them (and yourself if you want) a sandwich and drink when you get into the club house after your match.

The Nightmare goes on.....
As some of you may know the courses at West Malling were closed this morning due to the rain although they had opened by lunchtime. It is now raining again.
The club have suggested that we switch Thursdays match to the Hurricane course as the Spitfire greens are saturated and they believe there will be too many temporary greens for our match to go ahead.
The Chart Hills captain has agreed to play the match on the Hurricane if necessary and I am currently waiting a call back from the Pearson Organiser Chris Corke to confirm whether it is Ok to switch courses and I will let you know the outcome as soon as possible.
We will of course play the match on the Spitfire if it is playable.
A note to all those ladies who like to play a few holes before a match - please make sure you know where the match is being played before going out on the course. You must not practice on the same course the match is to be played.

Absolutely Fantastic
What an absolutely fantastic result today beating Parkwood 6 - 1.
We had a difficult start to the day with Sue hurting her back and withdrawing from the team at the last minute but Brenda took up the challenge and what a determined performance to come back from 4 down to eventually lose on the 18th giving Parkwood their only point of the day.
Great wins for both Rena (2 & 1) and Pat West (4 & 2) were huge confidence boosters and they were joined by Debbie Tennant (4 & 3), Kelly Hanson (2 & 1), Judith Parkhurst and Helen Venis (both 6 & 5) to give us a comprehensive win.
Well done team - I am so proud of you all.

Update on Littlestone Practice Rounds
Debbie C and Caroline have arranged their practice round at Littlestone on Saturday 27th for the knock down price of £40 each! As the rounds on Friday are just £10 each, I suggest we pool the cost and divide it between all those going on both days. Hope that is ok with everyone?
Thanks for responding to the last posting. So far on the 26th I have Helen S, Kelly, Rena and myself.
Anybody else?

Todays Match V Faversham
At long last we have got to play a home match and what a great day we have had beating Faversham 5 -2. Convincing wins for Caroline (7 & 5), Debbie Tennant (5 & 4), Kelly and Helen Venis (both 4 & 3) and Debbie Conder (with her marathon match winning on the 20th hole) gave us good points against a competitive Faversham side. Rena & Judith both had difficult opposition losing 5 & 3 and 4 & 2 respectively.
Well done ladies you were all terrific today.
Thanks also to Sue, Brenda and Pat for being the reserves and supporting on the day.

Yesterdays Get Together
A big thank you to all the ladies that turned up for yesterdays get together. Eight ladies battled the freezing cold to play some competitive match play and then enjoy a few drinks in the bar afterwards. It is good to see the continued enthusiasm we have within the squad despite the problems with our fixtures and I am looking forward to Thursday and our match against Faversham.

Nearly....
I have just arrived back from Parkwood slightly disappointed that we lost 4 - 3 as we were so close to getting a 5 - 2 win with Rena losing down the 19th and Pat West losing on the 18th. Parkwood are a difficult team to beat at home as Littlestone and Faversham have already found this season and we took them all the way losing on the last hole of the day.
Congratulations to Debbie Tennant, Judith & Helen Venis for their convincing 5 & 4 wins giving as valuable points from the match and commiserations to the other team members who all played well.
Thanks also to our supporters Kelly, Brenda, Caroline, Sue and Helen C - it's been another great day out!!
