Woodlands Manor Practice Round

I contacted Woodlands today to see if we could get off earlier than the booked 12 midday tomorrow. The tee is reserved for Woodlands Ladies from 11 to 12 and the Pro said if they do not use the whole hour we could slip in after them and thereby, hopefully start a little earlier.
So shall we meet between 10 and 1030 (depending on your dietary requirements!) ?
Can you also bring your County Card?

Callaway Winter Glove

I found a gold/ beige coloured Callaway winter glove at Rochester and Cobham on Thursday. It looked as if it had only just been droppped and is definitely a small size. If anyone has lost it just tell me so I can return it. I will be at Woodlands on Tuesday.

As you can see we have managed to find out R & Cs team!! Please don't mention this at next weeks match.

This team shows a number of changes from the one that beat Rochester & Cobham at home in November and I hope those ladies that have not made the team this time will not be disappointed. In choosing the team we have taken into account current form and also knowledge of the Rochester & Cobham course. Those of you who were able to attend the practice round last Thursday will know the greens are very challenging and knowledge of how to play them will be of major importance in this weeks match.

We will be meeting at 9.45am for a 10.15am start and I look forward to seeing you there.

Practice Round at Rochester & Cobham Thursday 27th Januaray 2011

We are now meeting at 10am and will be teeing off around 11ish. If you have a county card please could you bring it with you. It will be the 2010 one as this years is not yet available.

Rochester & Cobham are saying that we should carry unless we are unable to in which case we can use trolleys!! This was not mentioned however when we spoke to the pro shop today so I think we may plead ignorance at their requirements!! If you do have a carry bag please bring it with you just in case.

Practice Rounds for Away Matches

The practice round for Rochester & Cobham is tentatively Thursday, 27th January. I have spoken to the Pro Shop there and the date in their diary is clear but I must speak to the Cub Secretary tomorrow to arrange it formally.
The practice round at Woodlands Manor will be on Tuesday, 1st February, 12 midday start. A bit later than I hoped for but we should get round before dark! Again I have booked for three four balls and we will use County Cards for the extra four and share the cost as before which was £5 pp
The practice round for Red Libbets is arranged for Thursday, 24th February at 1030, again three four balls. Pro shop says the usual cost with County cards is £22.50 but he thought we could 'do something' on that. Again we will share the cost of the four extra between the twelve.

Get Together Thursday 6th January 2011

We are having a "Get Together" on Thursday 6th January 2011 and hope many squad members will be able to join us. Starting play at 9am. Afterwards we will update you with our plans for practice and courtesy rounds as we get ready for the away matches at Rochester & Cobham and Woodlands Manor.

Happy New Year

I would like to wish everyone at West Malling Golf Club a Very Happy New Year.

For the ladies in the West Malling Pearson Squad I would like to wish you health, happiness and the Pearson Trophy for 2011.

I understand the course is now OPEN so hope to see you all soon. I will be sorting out some dates for a Get Together and practice rounds at Woodlands Manor and Rochester & Cobham so please check the Blog regularly as now the snow has gone we will hopefully be able to get out and play some golf. We have had a terrific start to this years competition but have 2 away games coming up and need to get back to playing so that we are ready to build on our great results so far.

Update on Friday's Match at Woodlands Manor

Just to update you on the situation with Fridays match.
Woodlands Manor is closed at present and someone we spoke to at the club said they felt it was unlikely that the match would go ahead on Friday.
The Woodlands Manor captain is living in hope that the weather may change sufficiently so that the match can go ahead but has agreed to make a decision on Wednesday. I will of course let you know as soon as that has been made but looking at the weather forecast I can't see it going ahead. But you never know......
