And Still Again, Undefeated!

At Parkwood G.C. today for the return match, the goal was to win at least two games to ensure our progression to this years quarter finals. The conditions were pretty appalling with persistent rain and strong, gusty winds, leading to flooded greens and overturned trolleys. But, in true Team West Malling style, the ladies brought home an excellent 4:3 win to keep the 'undefeated' tag alive!
Parkwood fielded a team with handicaps rangeing from 20 to 29 so all our ladies were giving shots (in Caroline Harrison's case 8!)
There were wins for Debbie Conder 4&2, Lindsay Hart 7&6, Sue Gofton 2&1 and Stella Pitt on the 19th!
(We did try to persuade Stella that the deed was done and she could with a clear conscience concede on the 18th but she stuck to the task and won on the 19th.)
Losing out on the day were Caroline Harrison 3&2, Pat Donovan 2&1 and Julie Harris 5&4
Very well done to all!

Many thanks to Rena Jones and Judith Parkhurst for their support today, Rena supplying several items of clothing and equipment to various players to ward off the inclement conditions and Judith accompanying Helen to hospital!

Yes, Accident and Emergency, actually. You see Helen had an argument with one of her cats last evening and she came off worst, sustaining a very nasty bite on her hand. She was persuaded that it required more than a BandAid so a visit to Farnborough Hospital, a tetanus shot, antibiotics and a clean up later she set off on her drive to Nottingham.
No word on the condition of the cat!
