Match against "Elite Vets" Tuesday 29th March 2011

The "Elite Vets" have agreed to another match to help us with our preparations for our next round of matches.

The date for the match is Tuesday 29th March - please add your name to this post if you are available so that I can agree the number of men required with the vets captain.

This is a great opportunity to practice your matchplay skills as well as being able to get help and advice with many aspects of your game so i hope as many of you as possible will be able to make it.

Redlibbetts - Electric Trolleys!!!

I have just spoken with the Pro Shop at Redlibbetts and there is a ban on electric trolleys today. They say if we phone after 8am tomorrow then they can tell us if they are OK for tomorrow.Pro Shop 01474 872278 if anyone wants to check in the morning! C xx

AWAY DAY TO KNOLE PARK FRIDAY 25th MARCH

I have arranged for a group of 15 to play at Knole Park on Friday, 25th March at 11.20. We will be in threeballs and there will be availability for only five groups as we will be sandwiched between the members going out at 12 and their Pearson Team playing their match at 10.30!

We will all need County Cards but those who need to should be able to borrow one. The cost will be £25 for the golf. In addition we could preorder food in the shape of a large bacon baguette and coffee to have before we go out, for an additional £5.50.
Could you let me know asap if you would like to sign up for this as I have to confirm the details.

A 6 - 1 win at home to RedLibbets yesterday saw Team West Malling qualify for the knockout stages of the Pearson Trophy with a game to spare.
The team really turned on the style with Lindsay Hart leading the way with a 7 & 6 win against her opponent followed closely by Sue Stickland who won her match 6 & 5. Debbie Conder (5 & 4), Caroline Harrison (5 & 3), Helen Venis and Julie Harris (both 4& 2) also notched up big wins giving us a huge points total of 31 whilst RedLibbets took away just 3 points from their solitary win against Kelly Hanson.
Ladies you were truly awesome today, everyone played their part in a great win and it was great to see you celebrating in style after the match. We should also mention Debbie Tennant, Carol Eldridge, Rena Jones and Pat Donovan who all contributed to the teams success this year showing what a great squad we have.
We still have the return match at RedLibbets at the beginning of March where we may include some new faces to give them some Pearson experience. We are also planning other practice days so that we can keep our focus on matchplay until the next round starts so please check the Blog regularly for details.

Another Great Day

Team West Malling notched up another great win at Woodlands Manor today to maintain it's winning streak.
Wins for Debbie Conder and Lindsay Hart (both 6 & 4), Sue Stickland (2 & 1) and Carol Eldridge (1 up) gave us the win whilst Kelly Hanson and Helen Venis (both 2 down) lost on the 18th with Caroline Harrison losing on the 19th.
Our 4- 3 win saw us bag 15 points with Woodlands collecting just 5 points from their 3 wins.
Well done ladies, Woodlands is not an easy place to go to and win and the rain and mud made playing conditions very difficult.
This result leaves us with just one more match to win to secure our place in the next round.
Thanks also to Jane, Judith, Joyce, Viv, Pat W, Pat D, and Julie who turned up to support the team. Your support is truly appreciated.

Following on from yesterdays great result at Rochester & Cobham we have decided to keep the same team for next weeks match at Woodlands. This means the team for this match is:

Another Great Win!

Team West Malling continues on it's winning run with a 4- 3 win at Rochester & Cobham today.
It was great playing in the sun on a course that was not muddy and it brought the best out in the team. A stunning win for Helen Venis (7 & 5) was backed up by wins for Lindsay Hart (5&4), Carol Eldridge (5&3) and Caroline Harrison (3&1) giving us a fantastic 20 points whilst the remaining three matches were all lost on the 18th green. Both Sue Stickland and Debbie Conder had putts lip out on the 18th green depriving them of the oportunity of taking their matches up the 19th. Kelly Hanson also lost her match on the 18th meaning that Rochester & Cobham only scored 4 points from their 3 wins.
Well done ladies you all played your part in a fantastic win.
