We entered the knock out phase of this year's Pearson Competition on Wednesday with a tough match against a Shortlands Team who play their home course very well and we came up short, losing 5 matches to 2 (19 points to 6).
Handicap differences were not the issue we feared they might be with no one giving more than 2 shots but it was not to be our day.
Caroline Harrison met a very strong Paulette Jasquith and lost 6&4. Debbie Conder was very unlucky to lose 1 down on the 18th. Rena Jones and Pat Donovan lost 5&3 and 4&2 respectively.
Sue Gofton and Carol Eldridge both had good wins of 3&2 and Diana Scott battled on feeling very unwell necessitating a trip to hospital later, thankfully feeling better the next day. Thanks also to Julie Harris who was the sub on day.
So well done ladies, it's only half time in the round and all to play for in the second half at West Malling on May 28th.
