We Knew it Wasn't Going to be Easy!!!

Our match at Sidcup turned out to be as challenging as we expected and despite a fighting performance by our Ladies we lost our first match of the season going down 4 - 3.

Lindsay Hart (giving 4 shots) showed her determination and desire to win taking her opponent down the 20th hole before notching up another win and this was followed by Rena Jones who secured her win on the 18th. Our third winner was newbie Gill Newson who also showed great determination to see off her opponent on the 19th. These three hard fought wins gained us just 3 points.

Caroline Harrison was unlucky to lose out on the 18th especially as she was giving 5 shots to her opponent and Pat Donovan went down 3 & 2 coming back from 6 down after 9 holes. Julie Harris and Carol Eldridge both had difficult opponents and went down 7 & 5 and 7 & 6 respectively.

Unlucky ladies we nearly pulled it off. We always knew it was going to be difficult to get a win at Sidcup and we did much better than Chart Hills who lost 7 - 0 earlier in the year.

We now move into the second half of our season and in particular need to be ready for our home matches against St Augustine's and Chart Hills at the beginning of March. I will shortly be posting details of a Get Together on Tuesday 26th February  and will look forward to seeing many of you then.

  1. Well done all of you. This was an extremely hard draw! Sidcup got to the final somehow last year!

  2. Ladies I was there when you all came through after 9 holes and all bar one of the matches was down, so the result at the end was fantastic and you can all be very proud of yourselves! Well done for a great effort. Deb xx
